My Mother's Day Gift Guide 2014

Mother's Day is just around the corner and I only have one piece of advice for you;

If your mum says she doesn't want anything, GET HER SOMETHING ANYWAY.

Mums like to do this as a test. A test that my dad unfortunately failed twice when she told him she didn't want him to buy her flowers when she was giving birth. Do not fall into this trap (I'm looking at you boys. I know what you're like).

If you're in a slight state of panic over what to buy for your lovely mother, then I have put together the ULTIMATE emergency gift guide, with prices ranging from low to high.

If you've read my previous blog posts, you'll know that I love NSPA products. They're low priced but absolutely amazing! This jojoba and white vanilla scented candle is only £3.95 and smells incredible! It reminds me of a spa in a five star hotel. Mums love candles, so you can't go wrong with this one.

More smellies! This Fluffy Towels Reed Diffuser is a sure winner. Place these in a chosen room to have the whole place smelling gorgeous. If you don't like the smell of fresh towels (I don't know how), then they do plenty of other fragrances as well.

£13.45 from Yankee Candle

As soon as I saw this I thought of my mama. In a lovely neutral colour which will go with nearly any living room/bedroom, this East of India pillow is perfect for your own mother, if she likes to drink champagne and dance on the table, obviously.

£15.16 from Temptation Gifts

On to the beauty products! You knew they'd come up eventually, especially when this Soap and Glory 'Thank Inside the Box' is hanging around. This adorably packaged box contains a creamy shower wash, a body buff, a body lotion AND shower puff! These are all full sized products so will last her for ages! Plus, they all smell lovely, which is always a good thing.

£16.00 from Boots

You can never go wrong with flowers. This whopping 100 Stem Bouquet from Marks and Spencer contains 80 daffodils and 20 tulips, perfect for spring and perfect for a lucky mum. Marks and Spencer are my favourite for flowers, as they don't charge extra for delivery and include the option of attaching a free message and choosing the date they will arrive. This bouquet is currently on special offer for only £25.00, so head over quickly before they go back up in price!

If your mum's a keen baker/cake eater, this Linea cake stand is gorgeous. Vintage pastels, polka dots and an adorable tea cup perched on top which reads "Time for Tea and Cake". What more could she ask for?

£35.00 from House of Fraser

Jo Malone is my mum's personal favourite for beauty, and their colognes are lovely. Wild Fig and Cassis is my personal favourite, but there are so many to choose from. I'd recommend that you head on over to your closest Jo Malone store and sniff away. The staff are always very helpful.

£39.00 for 30ml or £78.00 for 100ml from Jo Malone (Tip: the bigger bottle works out cheaper in the long run!)

If you're looking for something a bit more personal, this personalised house portrait can be painted to look just like your childhood home. Simply send them a photo of your mum's house and they will have their artists paint a beautiful, unique painting just like the one above.

£40.00 from Not on the High Street

I was given a Trollbeads bracelet for my 18th birthday and to me, they're the most underrated of charm bracelets, with most people cooing over Pandora. However, you can truly tailor these to your mum's likes. I have created an example above, containing the Sterling Silver Bracelet, the Flower Lock and the Hydrangea bead. But, if your mum isn't the flower obsessive like I am, they have a range of gorgeous locks, such as swan, dolphin and lace.

£98.00 all together from Trollbeads

If you feel like having a splurge, you can never go wrong with a bit of Michael Kors. This beautiful Jet Set Saffiano Tote is stunning. It's perfect for travelling as well as every day and will give you brownie points for the rest of your life.

£220.00 from Selfridges

Whatever you end up buying for your mama, just remember that it's not about the size or price, it's about showing that you love her. If you won't get to be with her on the 25th (as I won't be), remember to phone her up and let her know how much you appreciate her. Letting her know this is the best pressie of all! How soppy I am!

  3. Thank you so much! I actually don't edit my photos! I use a Canon 100d which is really brilliant for high quality photos and then I try to get the best lighting (usually by a window), but that's about it!
