After what felt like the longest journey all time, we finally arrived in Rome, nearing midnight. We were tired, smelt like plane and my eyes had swollen to double their size from a spontaneous allergy from one of my products. Honestly, the hotel literally looked like heaven by the time we got there. It was appropriately named the Hotel Eden.
Big, beautiful and old-fashioned, it's one of the oldest hotels in Rome. Many of the hotels I have stayed in before have been modern, but if this had been the same I think I would have only been disappointed. Here, I felt like I was truly in Rome.
Oh yeah, and my boyfriend and I are Mr and Mrs J. Brown now...so it's official. Can't say he was entirely as pleased as I was!
We arrived in the dead of night and to be honest I wasn't expecting a lot after arriving so late in the day, but the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. They led us to our rooms where I abruptly stripped off and jumped in the shower.
There is nothing better than a hot shower after a long journey.
The bathroom was huge and not to mention stunning.
I'm also in love with the idea of this marble table with the towel covered stool. I imagined the ideas popping into my head while soaking in the bath, then being able to jump out quickly and write here.
The Hotel has also left me a lovely goodie bag, filled with adorable treats and a lovely, handwritten letter. They must know me so well because they left me a candle which smells incredible....kind of like chocolate!
After one of the best showers of my life, I crawled into the huge bed and passed out within minutes, hardly prepared for the early start to our Roman adventures the next day.
I swung open the doors on our second (yes, we had two!) balcony to be met by the glorious sunshine and the most beautiful view out across the city of Rome.
Before ascending to the top of the Hotel to the famous La Terraza dell Eden for our full, all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast. If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know that nothing makes me happier than all-you-can-eat.
But the view was something else.
The morning sky was so clear that Rome looked like images being projected on wide screen televisions. But no, we were actually there, overlooking one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
With the best view in Rome, breakfast was served.
This is random, but I have a new found love for Morello Cherry jam. On croissants. Heavenly.
Gorgeous fresh pastries.
With our bellies full we were ready to roll (not literally, although we felt like it), out into the City for a day of exploring...
