Before shooting this post, I hadn't worn makeup for about a week. For me, this is a pretty big step, both in having the confidence to go bare faced and also in learning not to care what people think. Despite this, I have to say, having a whole day on Monday where I could paint my face on with every product I have in my makeup bag was pretty spectacular. Although this still isn't a lot, if I'm honest.
I'm not going to lie, this entire outfit mainly came about because of the headband. You may have noticed it's the same one that arrived in this month's My Little Box. As soon as I saw it I absolutely loved it, and I knew I wanted to wear it as soon as possible.
I like to ignore the rule that Winter is exclusively for the dark colours. Every now and then I get bored of the same old jeans and jumper and I just want to look pretty. I kind of threw this outfit together with some old pieces from my wardrobe and I actually really liked it. The fluffy jumper incorporates the best of both Winter warmness and Summer whites.

This hairstyle is also one of my new favourite finds. Inspired by Megan's post about different ways of wearing a velvet turban, I went for the faux fringe and messy topknot do. I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to achieve such an elegant and vintage looking hairstyle (especially with my extremely poor hairstyling skills).

Monday was also Ollie's second to last day off work before around about New Year's Eve. He's head chef now, which means he sadly has to work Christmas Day (and all the days around it). To celebrate a final day of relaxation, we went for lunch on a second visit to Casa Don Carlos and relaxed in the evening. It was so lovely to spend some time just enjoying each other's company.
Let me know what you think of my outfit! I hope I've inspired you to break out the pastels and defy the Winter conventions. I know the weather outside is frightful, but pastels are so delightful...sorry, I couldn't resist! It's nearly Christmas, you know!
