If you follow me on Twitter, or any kind of social media platform really, you'll know that I'm in a Brighton production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, where I'm playing Johanna. If you're anything a bit as much of a fan of musicals as I am, you'll know that this is a pretty amazing show, and to be apart of it has really been a dream come true (not to get sappy or anything).
As tickets are now on sale (You can purchase them here!), and the show is only just over a week away, I thought I'd give you, my lovely readers a little sneak peek behind the scenes look at the show, and hopefully persuade you to come along and watch!
Todd & Anthony...
Beggar Woman...
Can you spot me?
'Carly' Wig C/O Annabelle's Wigs
Don't worry! It is a wig, I haven't gone all blonde just yet. The beautiful wig I'm wearing was sent to me by Annabelle's Wigs, which is also a Brighton based wig company! It's so natural and completely gorgeous; I don't think I could have asked for a better one!
The wonderful Mrs Lovett!
Judge Turpin...
While costumes aren't completely ready here, as you can probably tell, the show is well on its way to being perfect. The new look that we're going for is truly outstanding and I've never seen Sweeney Todd being performed in this way anywhere else.
A friendly neighbourhood birdseller...
The skilled salesboy Tobias!
The photos of me in my scenes were taken by Malcolm Tam, an absolutely incredible photographer who is far more skilled with a camera than I am! He will also be taking some beautiful shots when we finally get onto the real theatre stage which hopefully I'll be able to show you!
Pirelli...
Beadle Bamford...
As you can see we all got a bit shutter happy. I have far more shots than this but these are definitely some of my favourites!
If you're around in Brighton from the 4th-7th March, Sweeney Todd is playing at the Sallis Benney Theatre! I'd love for some fellow bloggers to come and have a watch as well as review the show if you like. Tickets are only £10, or £8 if you're a student. The shows start at 7:30pm each evening and there is also a Matinee on the 7th March at 2:30pm. Once again, tickets can be bought here. It's a really excellent deal and it's rare to find tickets to a similar show for so cheap!
I hope you don't mind a more picture heavy post but obviously life, university and rehearsals are pretty much overtaking my life. Let me know what you think and what your favourite musical is in the comments!
