On 3rd October, 2015, I caught a train to Victoria and a coach to Leeds to take part in what would ultimately become one of the best days of my entire life.
If you're a blogger, I'm sure you've heard about a little thing called the Bloggers Blog Awards? Created by Hayley from Tea Party Beauty and in association with Talented Talkers, it's an entirely reader-voted blog awards, one that I was shortlisted in a few months ago. So, along with some of the best bloggers in the entire country I took a journey up North to Lambert's Yard in Leeds.
After the four and a half hour coach journey we arrived at our hotel to immediately apply some makeup and get dressed up. I was joined by the amazing Ibis girls Laura, Katy, Charlotte, Vicky, Becky, Hannah and Freya as we all crammed into one hotel room in an attempt to get ready.
Luckily, we were soon on our way to the venue, which allowed for some cheeky outfit snaps (although the word cheeky has gained a whole new meaning since this event I'm telling you) taken by the lovely Becky.
Dress - Lipsy || Coat - Miss Selfridge || Shoes - New Look
The event was decked out with goodie bags, chairs, sweets, a raffle table; the whole shebang!! I have to tell you that the raffle prizes were incredible (and ultimately the raffle raised over £300 for Alzheimer's charities!)
Of course as soon as I arrived the sweets table was the first thing to be raided. Especially those milky bar buttons.
The first hour of chatting and socialising flew by, allowing me to chat with some absolute babes who I hadn't seen before or hadn't met, including the gorgeous Lauren from Britton Loves who is one of my besties and was also shortlisted for Best Long Standing Beauty Blog!
I also got to meet the lovely Megan from Thumbelina Lillie who's blog I've admired for some time and I did fangirl a bit when I first saw her. She is absolutely lovely and I promise she's not as serious as she looks in this picture I took of her.
Soon it was time to take our seats for the announcements of who the winners were. I can honestly say I've never been more nervous in my life and I was absolutely shaking as I sat down.
One by one they read out the winners and I was so happy with the results. The incredible lady Jemma from Dorkface took home two awards (as well as most of the raffle, cheeky!!) and they were absolutely deserved. Hannah also took home Best Longstanding Lifestyle Blog with Becky in Highly Commended. Katy also got Highly Commended in Up & Coming Lifestyle and Hayley herself won Longstanding Beauty. The full list of winners is here <3
Soon, it was my category and total babe Holly was announced as Highly Commended. She is an absolutely incredible blogger with a cracking Instagram and she totally deserved it! (Saying that every single person in my category was absolutely fabulous, probably adding to my mindset that there was no way I would win). I immediately breathed a sigh, realising that there was no chance I'd be the next person called out.
And then in some miraculous turn of events...I won. I'm not even joking when I say that I had no expectation of winning. I was 100% sure I wouldn't even get highly commended, so when the three words "Hello Miss Jordan" echoed around the room, I felt like I had hit by a car. That's the only way I can describe it. That, or an arrow straight through my chest. In a second, everything felt as if it was moving in slow motion. As I clumsily clambered out of my chair to approach the front, all I could see were a dozen cameras on me and my heart was racing.
My 'speech' (which had not been planned at all due to the expectation that I wouldn't need one) was pretty poor and involved a lot of flailing hands and the words "thank you" coming out in never-ending word vomit.

And I have to admit it, I cried. My mum specifically told me not to cry over either result and I did it. As a pretty emotional person anyway I just couldn't stop myself from choking up, so I tried to hide it with a bunch of nervous giggles. You can see my entire reaction and speech in Lauren and Holly's vlog's here and here respectively.
The entire time it felt like being underwater, drowning in thoughts screaming "How is this happening? How has this happened?"

All I can say is thank you. I mean, I said it enough in my speech but I don't think that was enough clearly! If you voted, nominated, anything, from the bottom of my heart you have made me the happiest girl alive.
The rest of the evening went by in a flash, before we all headed to The Black Swan in Leeds centre for some dinner. I have to say they were absolutely fantastic as they catered for around 35 of us without any notice and the food was outstanding.
It wasn't until I got home that I managed to have a proper rummage through my goodie bag! There was so many gorgeous prizes (not including the £150 Bluebella voucher that I won for winning in my category!), and I picked out a few of my faves to photograph!
Jewellery Box also provided us with some of their gorgeous jewellery and one of the ones I was given I actually already have! It's a rose gold arrow and ball earrings set which I absolutely adore and can be seen worn in my tulle skirt photoshoot here. I have always loved the symbol of the arrow as pointing you in the right direction. As I have no use for it, I want to give it away to one of you as a thank you for everything you have given me! I know it's only little but I want it to go to a good home! This giveaway is international as well as I want to thank my readers at home and abroad.
A huge thank you to Hayley, for creating such a wonderful awards, to Talented Talkers and to all the brands who donated to the raffle and the prizes! You are all incredible humans. I salute you.
