Do you ever find yourself drawn to something you would never normally buy? Well, that's basically what happened with this dress. When I first saw it, I was immediately like "OH MY GOD I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE NOW". Why? Nobody knows. Maybe it's the fact that it's made entirely of velvet. Maybe it's because it makes me feel a bit like a Steampunk princess.
No, but seriously. It's gorgeous. Not only is it the most beautiful shade of sapphire coloured velvet I've ever seen, but the beautiful sleeves also have slits up the side to make it just a bit different. If you haven't realised already, these photos were taken in Trafalgar Square when I went up to London last week, and honestly I felt so comfy the whole day in this dress.

I also absolutely adore the detailing on the bib front that gives it a slight Victorian edge that I love. It makes me feel a little bit Steampunk, not going to lie!
It's also pretty perfect for basically any occasion over the Winter period. Dress it down with flats or ankle boots, or dress it up with a pair of killer black heels!
While we were in London, we also had another afternoon tea for The Tea Files! The post on that will be coming very soon and I'm sure you'll be excited to know that this gorgeous dress will be rearing it's pretty head again. In a tea setting as well! Couldn't get more vintage than that!
