Lip Library
It's the time of year when matte lipsticks are pretty much a staple in every beauty lover's Muji drawers. I couldn't think of anything worse (beauty wise) than wearing a glossy lip in the Winter and having my hair blow all over the place and stick to it. So, Rimmel have answered our prayers and released a brand new collection called The Only 1 Matte*, featuring 9 gorgeous shades, including some perfect ones for Autumn and Winter.
But how do they hold up? The packaging is great and doesn't feel cheap at all. The lipsticks themselves have an odd shape to them, making them look more like balms, but they were still just as easy to apply as normal lipsticks, thankfully!
The shades are super pigmented and when applied don't feel like you're scraping chalk across a blackboard like I've found with some other matte lip products. The application is actually very smooth and doesn't feel matte at all until it dries. The staying power is pretty good too, I found that I could wear at work and they didn't budge hardly at all until I ate my lunch, when they needed a quick touch up.
My current favourite shades are probably "Look Who's Talking" (a dark, brown toned nude), "The Matte Factor" (the perfect berry shade) and "Take The Stage" (a stunning Hollywood style red). I definitely think all three will become staples in my A/W makeup this year!
