Last weekend, my boyfriend did something very special; he whisked me away to Milan for the weekend, landing in the 30 degree heat and immediately falling in love with the beautiful surroundings and stunning architecture. I have wanted to visit Milan for so many years, especially after seeing the Duomo for the first time on Instagram.
I have to admit, I'm posting these a little out of order, because the pictures you see here are actually from our second day in Milan, the day where we got up bright and early so we could beat the crowds and get some gorgeous photos around by the Duomo. Just as the sun was peaking over the cathedral's gothic turrets we snapped away, taking in everything there was to see before the bustling crowds arrived to drive us away.
We had purchased our tickets to go on the Duomo Terraces the previous day (definitely a tip I'd recommend, as we could queue up and get straight in when the entrance opened at 9am) and decided to be some of the first people to head up onto the beautiful rooftop. It wasn't until that morning that I realised that I had accidentally Disney bounded as Belle in my Chi Chi London dress, and the beautiful stone structure of the roof only enhanced all the Beauty and the Beast feels!
It wasn't long before the sun was fully awake and burning down on us, so we grabbed a quick gelato and headed back to the hotel to relax for a little while. I think I've almost started to nail this whole blog photo/actually stopping to appreciate my surroundings balance...almost. x
