Early Thursday morning we all hopped on a train (first class, too!) and it wasn't long before we found ourselves in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We checked into the beautiful Hotel Du Vin where we were given a glorious afternoon tea, complete with huge bouquets of cotton candy. Our rooms were absolutely stunning and I could hardly believe that I was there.
We then headed to the Slingsby Gin headquarters; an adorably quaint little shop located on the high street near Betty's, where they keep not only their bestselling gin but a huge variety of different flavours that you can try and test. We were treated to a full Gin Experience, which included making some delicious cocktails and learning a bit more about the brand itself. I have to say, it was so much fun and if you're a big fan of your gin you would absolutely love this activity. It's perfect for all kinds of occasions and really so much fun!
After a quick rest, we were taken to the stunning setting of Rudding Park for dinner at their restaurant, Horto. I have to say, I immediately fell in love with the venue and I was immediately daydreaming about having a wedding there in the future. Then I shed a little tear when I remembered I live 4 hours away. *sigh*
We were treated to a delicious 7 course tasting menu, filled with all kinds of weird and wonderful foods that I had never tried before, including pea water! Yep, this is a thing and it was actually pretty good! Feeling thoroughly well fed and extremely tired, we headed back to hotel for the night and I have to say, I definitely slept well, excited for what the second day of our adventure would bring.
Our trip to Harrogate was complimentary thanks to Slingsby Gin, but all opinions are my own.
