Shirt dress - C/O Miss Patina
A couple of weekends ago I had the very exciting opportunity to head back to one of my favourite UK cities, Manchester, for a little weekend break. I was joined by the lovely Immy as we boarded a train and headed up North for the girliest of getaways thanks to the lovely people at Roomzzz, to celebrate the opening of their brand new aparthotel in the Manchester Corn Exchange.
I've only ever stayed in an aparthotel once before, so I was kind of sure of what to expect, but I wasn't at all prepared for the incredible welcome we received and how blooming lovely the rooms were! They were plush, luxurious and just so ridiculously liveable. I know that sounds weird, but seriously, I could have moved in and been very happy there!
The building is also incredibly stunning, with green art deco style tiles that line the main lobby and a beautiful staircase that winds up the many floors.
Upon arrival we were greeted with the fluffiest personalised dressing gowns, biscuits, hot choccies and Disney face masks, and it wasn't long before we had a knock at the door and two piping hot pizzas were delivered! Roomzzz had asked us what kind of weekend we wanted, and we decided that a girly night in with a takeaway was just perfect for us!
We were also treated to having our hair styled by the team at Blow ltd and in the morning we were awoken by the lovely Claudia who gave us a yoga session to get the blood flowing! Of course Immy was fantastic while I flailed around like a fish but Claudia was one of the best yoga instructors I've ever had.
The following morning we decided to treat ourselves to a hearty breakfast at Home Sweet Home (one of my favourite Manchester haunts) and we were not disappointed. We shared both Nutella waffles and one of the best vegetarian breakfasts I've ever tried and were well and truly stuffed!
We decided to explore the city a bit more, visiting the shops and having a peek inside the John Rylands Library (aka real life Hogwarts) which was so amazing - I have a separate blog post with the photos from there coming soon!
In the afternoon we were also treated to afternoon tea at Proper Tea near Manchester Cathedral, but I'm sad to say it wasn't very good, with most of the cakes being stale and the scones like rocks! However the drinks were really lovely so I'd recommend popping in for a coffee, but maybe not a bite to eat.
Nonetheless, our weekend was absolutely fabulous and I loved staying with Roomzzz. The apartments are absolutely gorgeous and if you're looking for a place to stay during your visit to Manchester I'd definitely recommend them! I'm all about a bit of luxury! x
