Bridesmaid Styling with House of Fraser

Top - C/O House of Fraser | Skirt - C/O House of Fraser

Tis the season again...you know what I'm talking about...no, not Christmas silly! Wedding season! One of my favourites, don't you know!

Now, personally I am a huge fan of weddings, always have been. Whenever I get invited to one, even if it's just for the evening, I'm ridiculously excited. Partially because I can't wait to see what the happy couple have done for their big day, but mainly because I get to dress up. And, if you're a bridesmaid it's even more special, of course!

There's nothing like being chosen as one of the bride's special girls and being able to put on a gorgeous dress for the day that you might not be able to wear any other time. But it can often be a challenge if you're a bridesmaid (or a bride!) and you're unsure of how to style up a dress that's essentially been chosen for you. So I was very excited when the lovely people at House of Fraser got in contact and challenged me to style up a beautiful bridesmaid's dress from their collection.

House of Fraser is basically my go-to location for anything occasion related, especially since they have a huge variety of brands to choose from, so there really is something for everyone. It's also the place to shop for bridesmaid's dresses, and I often find myself browsing the website imagining what I would choose if I were getting married!

I chose this gorgeous top and skirt combination from Coast after absolutely falling in love with the blush pink tones and the floaty tulle ribbon that adorns the top. Together, they make the ultimate bridesmaid's outfit - elegant, classy and timeless. As you can imagine, the outfit is gorgeous quality and I just feel amazing sashaying around in the skirt. The movement in it is truly beautiful, as I'm sure you can tell from the pictures! I also love that the skirt can be dressed down after the wedding, perhaps with a black roll neck jumper for an Audrey-esque look.

I chose to wear the top strapless, but it does come with detachable straps for those who aren't as keen on the whole strapless vibe. The tulle ribbon can be tied multiple ways which will give a lovely variation if all of the bridesmaids are in the same dress.

As for accessories, I went with a classic pair of nude strappy shoes (you can't really go wrong!) and dainty silver accessories including these gorgeous leaf earrings that just add a little something extra. All finished off with a sparkly clip for the hair! As a bridesmaid, I would want to feel confident and pretty on the day, but I wouldn't want to wear anything too outrageous and distract from the bride!

I'm pretty much in love with this look and now I'm just wishing that I was actually a bridesmaid! One day!

Let me know what you think of my take on a bridesmaid look and if you've got any weddings coming up! x
