A Universal Experience

A trip to Florida just wouldn't be complete without a visit to Universal Studios. I hadn't been in about five years prior to our visit, so I was very excited to see all the new changes they had added, especially ones at the new water park, Volcano Bay!

For our trip, I was kindly gifted my ticket by the lovely people at Attraction Tickets Direct, so this post is in collaboration with them! If you've never heard about ATD before, they are the go to place to snag all your theme park tickets for your Florida trip. I'm the biggest advocate for pre-booking your tickets before you get to the park, because not only do you get the lowest price but it's also one less stress on your holiday! Attraction Tickets Direct have the guaranteed lowest prices in the UK too, so I also bought my tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Blue Man Group from them too for our trip. Definitely check out their website if you're heading away anywhere soon and know you're going to need to get tickets for something!

Now, on to our adventure!

Playsuit - Hello Molly | Scarf - WB Studio Tour

Of course, my favourite part had to be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The last time I visited the new Diagon Alley expansion wasn't complete, so I was very excited to finally get to experience this for myself. Needless to say, it was even more magical than I could have hoped for and I was absolutely blown away by all the beautiful details and colours.

Top - River Island | Shorts - Miss Selfridge | Shoes - Toms

The new Escape from Gringotts ride had to be a ride highlight from the parks, even more so than my normal favourite, Rip Ride Rocket! The combination of simulator ride and rollercoaster was absolutely amazing and the one ride I'd 100% recommend you go on!

A little tip, if you want to go when there's minimal queues, head there about half an hour before the park closes. The queues will have mostly died off and when you come out you'll be able to explore Diagon Alley at night with less people!

Even though I had been to the Hogsmede and Hogwarts part before, it was still so wonderful to see the castle again. By the time we visited all the Christmas decorations were up so it felt even more magical!

Our ticket also allowed us entrance to ride on the Hogwarts Express, which takes you on the journey from King's Cross Station to Hogsmede! They have an entire replica of the London station which is so realistic that when I posted it on my Insta Stories people actually thought I was back in London!

Necklace - C/O H Samuel

Jumper - Primark

We also had the chance to visit Volcano Bay, as our 3-Park Explorer Ticket allowed us unlimited access to all three Universal parks for 14 days. This was another place I hadn't visited before and we were excited to see how it compared to the Disney waterpark we had visited earlier in the trip. I am a HUGE waterpark fan and was so psyched to go on all the new rides!

Despite being quite busy, we still managed to ride everything we wanted as they have a 'Tapu Tapu' system that places you in a virtual queue for the ride you want, so you can go off to other areas of the park and do things! It's actually pretty amazing and meant that we could queue for the water coaster (the one ride I really wanted to do) while still managing to do all the others.

The atmosphere of the park is amazing and it feels so weird when you go to the top of the slides and look down to see that you're really on the side of a motorway rather than in a tropical Hawaiian paradise like it feels!

Our Universal Studios trip was honestly absolutely amazing and I'm so glad we got to go while we were in Florida! A big thank you again to Attraction Tickets Direct for gifting my ticket! Let me know if you've ever been to Universal Studios, and if so what your favourite park is!
