Last week the lovely people at Peggy Porschen invited me down to the Lanesborough Hotel near Hyde Park in London to try out their brand new themed afternoon tea (gifted). As someone who is a huge fan of Peggy's (as you all know) and afternoon tea (of course!) I was so excited to try out this collaboration.
You may remember that I have actually reviewed the Lanesborough's afternoon tea before and it was actually one of my favourites that I've tried. Last time the theme was Hamilton which is my favourite musical, so it seems that they're very on brand with my likes at this hotel!
From the moment we arrived, the signs that Peggy Porschen had infiltrated were everywhere! An adorable pink bike adorned with flowers and a huge pink flower arch sat at the entrance. There was even a lovely cart at the entrance covered in Peggy's cakes.
In my opinion, the Lanesborough's afternoon tea room is one of the most beautiful in London. It's just stunning - so light and airy and the perfect location for Peggy's to collaborate with.
We took a seat and it wasn't long before we were served our teas. Mum had English breakfast and I had a hot chocolate as always. Everything was lovely, not the best hot chocolate (I mentioned this in my last review) but ok.
There is also the option to have champagne with your tea as well which of course we did.
Then the food arrived. It was beautifully presented on a silver stand with pink flowers on it. I loved this touch!
Everything was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were very fresh and all lovely, and the scones were served warm. The only thing I would say (and I'm not sure if this is because we visited on a press day) is that we weren't offered any extra sandwiches which is a Tea Files must! However on the last visit we were offered, so I'm not sure if this is just because the staff were quite busy with the other tables and just not offering a 'full' experience like you would get on a regular day.
Of course, all of the cakes and pastries are provided by Peggy Porschen themselves, and they're absolutely beautiful! All kinds of shades of pink, complete with edible flowers, strawberries, raspberries and more. They were all delicious, with my personal favourites being the mini pavlova and the lemon tart (complete with mini macaron). I could honestly have eaten four of each they were so good!
There were also chocolate cupcakes, strawberry and champagne cupcakes and a slice of raspberry and lemon cake, all of which are classic Peggy's flavours.
Overall, I would highly recommend the The Lanesborough's afternoon tea in collaboration with Peggy Porschen. I couldn't fault the food, it was all seriously delicious. The only thing that let it down was the service on the day (but as I mentioned it was very good the last time I attended and may have been affected by the press day) and the hot chocolate (same as before), so I'm going to score it the same as last time.
The tea would be absolutely perfect for if you're celebrating a special occasion, or if you just fancy treating yourself and a loved one to something special. It's so girly and gorgeous that I can imagine anyone who's a fan of the pretty and pink will enjoy it!
The tea will be running from now until 2nd June so be sure to book your table! You can make your reservation HERE.
